Have you ever felt that you drew the talent short straw? Have you ever wondered where do you belong in a world full of Kari Jobe’s and the TD Jakes’s? Do not fear you have come to the right place, or rather, we are going to talk about the right place to go, and that would be the Word of God.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many
parts form one body so it is with Christ.”
~1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV
Simply put every person in the body of Christ has a function. At this point in the scripture I usually raffle off areas of ministry I can think of in my mind. You have the head pastor, the youth pastor the worship leader….. wait, are those last two listed in 1 Corinthians? Mhhhm no… I think not. Actually those positions that in my experience are the most sought after would be included under helps.
Maybe your voice is a little harsh on the ears. Maybe public speaking makes you dizzy and the Do Not Touch sign in the sound booth is just for you. Does that mean that you have no area to serve in? Lets take another look at 1 Corinthians.
“Now if the foot should say ‘ Because I am not a hand, I
do not belong to the body,’ It would not for that reason stop being
apart of the body.”
~1 Corinthians 12:15 NIV
So the answer to your question is yes, you do have a gift and a calling. All we need to do is take the limitations off of the way that God can use us. Whether you are a nursery worker, Sunday school teacher or the person who spell checks the announcement board we all have a part to play so get involved.
