Sunday night I downloaded a daily planner and proceeded to schedule out my week. I was determined! I planned a schedule for today that I was sure would succeed even if I missed my morning coffee…. which I did. I also proceeded to run later to work than I hoped, and that set me behind 30 minutes into my perfect Monday. Right when I got caught up my supervisor calls me to work a different facility. I was so tempted to complain I had to resort to physically clamping my hand over my mouth to keep myself from saying all kinds of negative things about my day and my job. I am so glad that I did. Little did I know the facility that I was sent to was much quieter and had everything I needed to I get even more work accomplished.
Simply put, a good plan is well thought out with the best of intentions. A God plan is weathered for disappointments, distractions, and hard wired for success. At times the success of my good plan depends on what I can control. I my have a plan B or even a plan C but life can just gets in the way.
I wanted God to bless my plan. I thought he would protect it in a little bubble so nothing could derail it. Instead misshaps slipped in and God was able to use them to put me in position to be more productive than I could be on my own.
The bible says in Proverbs 3:6 that if we acknowledge God in all our ways that he will direct our path. So plan your day! Highlight dates and set reminders but don’t leave God out of the process. Acknowledge him and when distractions come and disappointments ensnare trust God to work it all out for your good and he will!
