Who is this lady and why is she writing a blog?
I’m glad you asked. My name is Shereyl and you can say I was a bit of a people-pleaser. I was really good at it. I spent so much of my life serving others that I had myself convinced that it as my job to make everyone happy, and I did, until I couldn’t. Soon it felt like I had lost favor with a lot of people that I love in my all at once. The experience shook me to the core. That low place was exactly where I needed to be for God to encounter me.
I knelt down and asked to Jesus to help me get back on everyone’s good side. I expected to find a to do list that I could check of task by task. Instead he flooded me with so much love. I could feel in that moment that God didn’t want me being everything to everyone, that he wanted to be everything to me. He began leading me to a place where I didn’t need the approval of everyone to feel at peace. I just need him. What I am learning is that everyday that I invite God into my life and allow his Word to shape my perspective and guide my decisions than I become more like him little by little.
Who am I? Why am I writing this blog? I am a Christian who believes that iron sharpens iron and I know that being obedient to candidly share my journey will allow God to use me and this little corner of the internet to do just that for the both of us.
