“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
In children’s ministry, there are so few guaranteed days that brings enjoyment to teachers, kids, and parents than Easter. All look forward to the day and usually come in with matched energy. This year in the midst of resurrection lessons, egg hunts, and photo taking I came across my best Easter memory to date.
A little boy about two years old was enjoying what I can only assume was his first Easter egg hunt. Zy’s dad held his basket and encouraged him to give the eggs he found to him so his hands were free to hold more. The child grew increasingly frustrated. He saw every egg that he sent into the basket as one less egg that belonged to him. Finally fed up, he gathered all of the eggs his tiny hands could hold and decided that he would leave with them. I watched amused has Zy attempted to bob and weave his way past the adults that tried to prevent his escape His eyes were focused on the door, his arms full of the 6 tiny eggs and he was determined to reach his goal.
There was an old 90’s worship song that said “ I’ve got dreams turing into plans, to big for human hands”. That’s my prayer right now in life. I don’t want to be like Zy, holding to tightly to my few eggs that I walk away for the endless possibilities God is holding for me.
Just as Zy’s father will space out the candy to avoid cavities and spoiled appetites, so our father has perfect timing. He does not just own the blueprints of our lives, he is the master architect.

Feel free to leave comments on any post they would help me so much and thank you for reading!! I pray this blessed you!!
