What is grace? How is it different than mercy? How is mercy different than Gods favor? Is Gods favor just another term for Gods blessings? These are questions I hope to answers in this new daily study over church slang.
– Ezra 9:8 NKJV
Grace Provides an Escape
The word tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that when we are tempted God will provide a way out so we can endure it. So many Christians think this means God creates trials for us to go through but will never overwhelm us with them. That could not be more wrong! The word says he will not allow us to be tempted more than what we can bear. Every fowl and ugly situation we encounter comes strait from the pits of hell. The devil want you to think that he and God are in cahoots, trying to test and stretch our limits. On the contrary! This scripture provides a promise that what ever we encounter by Gods grace we are equipped to handle it. God doesn’t promise we will never go through trials and though times but he does promise with him we will never go through them alone and through him we will see the victory over all thing.
Ezra 9:8 tell us that grace will “give us a peg” In Gods holy place. We do not have to go to God with our tail between our legs hoping he will not be to mad at us when we fall short. Grace creates a place in Gods presence we could never get to on our own. Once in the door most christian just hang out in the back happy with entry level salvation, never striving for true victory in their life. Grace has saved you front row seats to Gods presence. Instead of looking down from the nose bleed section, only being able to receive whatever revelation your pastor shares on Sunday morning, you can sit up close and listen to what the holy spirit has to say that is specific your life and struggles.
